Lamb’s rock

The rock is named after captain lamb who walked an extra mile to literally create a path to this spot, some 6 km from coonoor. This popular picnic spot has a breathtaking view of the yawning burliar ravine in the valley below.

Dolphin’s nose

A unique rock of enormous proportion that resembles a dolphin’s nose; and hence the name. The outcrop, about 12 km from coonoor, offers a panoramic view of tea estates and thundering waterfalls.

Sim’s park

A botanical garden that is located in the upper part of this hill station on the kotagiri road. The garden was named in honour of j.d. sim who created the park in the 1870s.

The park is open from 8 am to 6 pm and charges an entrance fee of Rs 20 per adult and Rs 10 per child.

Green shop

The shop, located in coonoor, sells organic products made by local tribes like the kurumbas. These include eucalyptus oil, ginger honey, organic spices, organic cosmetic products, wooden toys, shawls, bags etc. The products you get here are not available anywhere else and are all locally produced.

Every person on the factory tour must buy a 250 gm packet of tea for Rs 100.
